St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival 2012

St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival

St. Louis Brewers Heritage FestivalAs you know, we love a good beer festival, which is why we started drinkdestinations.com.  Tonight, we’re headed to the St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival.

The festival has a new home this year, and is being held in Ballpark Village across from Busch Stadium.  The festival has four sessions – Friday, June 15 – 5pm to 9pm, Saturday, June 16 – 11am – 3pm, 5pm – 9pm, and Sunday, June 17 – 11am – 3pm.  At the same time, the St. Louis Cardinals will be taking on the Kansas City Royals next door in a weekend series.  Discount tickets to the games are available through the festival as well.

Each year, several breweries each brew a similar style specifically for the festival.  This year, 11 breweries will be brewing IPAs, each brewed with a different single variety of hops.  Another unique feature of the St. Louis Brewers Heritage festival is that it’s a “non-branded” event that focuses on beer styles, not brands.  Therefore, attendees can only see the name of the brewery and the beer style.  For example, you’ll see “Anheuser-Busch InBev American Premium Lager” instead of “Budweiser.”

“The element of surprise with all this will be to match up the beers with the breweries,” Stephen Hale, head brewer at the Schlafly Tap Room told Hip Hops. “No secrets at the event. We’re just trying to stay true to the mission that it’s not a branded festival and should be all about the beer styles.”

Each Session Includes:
•  Free commemorative sampling glassware
•  Beer from 20 St. Louis area breweries
•  Unlimited sampling of over 80 different beers
•  Live music from some of St. Louis’ most popular bands
•  Gourmet food (available for purchase) from some of St. Louis’ most unique restaurants
•  Education from local Brewmasters

Participating Brewers: 2nd Shift Brewing Co., 4 Hands Brewing Co., Anheuser-Busch InBev, Augusta Brewing Co., Buffalo Brewing Co., Cathedral Square Brewery, Charleville Vineyard & Microbrewery, The Civil Life Brewing Co., Crown Valley Brewery, Exit 6 Pub and Brewery, Ferguson Brewing Co., Kirkwood Station Brewing Co., Morgan Street Brewery, O’Fallon Brewery, Perennial Artisan Ales, Saint Louis Brewery (Schlafly), Six Row Brewing Co., Square One Brewery & Distillery, Trailhead Brewing Co., Urban Chestnut Brewing Co.
